Basic Vector Properties in 3-d | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths
Three-dimensional vectors extend the familiar 2-D ideas to space and have wide applications in mechanics and geometry. In this lesson you will learn how to use column vectors and the i, j, k unit vectors in three dimensions, calculate the magnitude using sqrt(x^2 + y^2 + z^2), find a unit vector in the direction of a, and compute the distance between two points using d^2 = (x1 — x2)^2 + (y1 — y2)^2 + (z1 — z2)^2.
