Multiple Solutions of Trigonometric Equations | Year 1 Pure | A Level Maths
Trigonometric equations typically have many solutions, and finding them all in a specified interval is a core A-level skill. In this lesson you will learn how to use the symmetry and periodicity of sin, cos and tan to locate every solution, including for equations such as sin(x + 70 degrees) = 0.5 for 0 < x < 360 degrees and 3 + 5 cos 2x = 1 for -180 < x < 180. The lesson covers both degree and radian working and quadratic-style equations in a trig function.
