Pythagorean Identities | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

The Pythagorean identities give powerful relationships between sec, cosec, tan and cot that are central to Year 2 trig manipulation. In this lesson you will learn how to use sin^2 theta + cos^2 theta = 1, sec^2 theta = 1 + tan^2 theta, and cosec^2 theta = 1 + cot^2 theta, apply these identities to solve trigonometric equations in degrees or radians, and use them to construct rigorous proofs of further identities.
