The Tangent Double Angle Formulae | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

The double angle formula for tan completes the trio and is needed for problems where only tan is involved. In this lesson you will learn how to derive tan 2A = 2 tan A / (1 — tan^2 A) from the compound angle formula, apply it to evaluate exact values, prove identities, and solve trigonometric equations including those that combine tan with sec or cot.
