Tangent Addition and Subtraction Formulae | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

The compound angle formula for tan is a direct consequence of the sin and cos versions. In this lesson you will learn how to use tan(A +/- B) = (tan A +/- tan B) / (1 -/+ tan A tan B), apply the formula to evaluate tan of compound angles exactly, and use it within proofs of other identities. The lesson notes that the tan(theta/2) formulae are not required, in line with the spec.
