Transformations of Standard Curves | Year 1 Pure | A Level Maths

Transforming standard curves is a regular exam topic that pulls together the four basic transformations in one place. In this lesson you will sketch transformations of the standard A-level curves — quadratics, cubics, quartics, reciprocals of the form a/x and a/x^2, square root, sin x, cos x, tan x, e^x and a^x — and produce results such as y = 3 + sin 2x or y = 2 — cos((x + pi)/4). Recognising the start point and the order of transformations is the key to fast, accurate sketches.
