Transformations of Graphs | Year 1 Pure | A Level Maths
Transformations of graphs are an essential visual technique that links the algebra of a function to the shape of its curve. In this lesson you will learn how to sketch graphs of y = af(x), y = f(x) + a, y = f(x + a) and y = f(ax) given the graph of y = f(x), including reflections such as y = f(-x). The lesson uses the standard A-level family of curves — quadratics, cubics, reciprocals, square root, sin, cos, tan, e^x and a^x — so the methods transfer directly to exam questions.
