Summing Infinite Geometric Sequences | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

An infinite geometric series can be summed exactly when the common ratio satisfies |r| < 1, and the result is a beautiful and useful formula. In this lesson you will learn how to use the convergence condition |r| < 1, apply the formula S-infinity = a / (1 — r), and use the modulus notation correctly. The lesson covers worked examples with positive and negative ratios and shows the connection to recurring decimals and modelling.
