Finite Geometric Sequences | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

Geometric sequences have a constant common ratio and grow or decay multiplicatively, with a wide range of real-world applications. In this lesson you will learn how to use u_n = a r^(n — 1) for the nth term and S_n = a (1 — r^n) / (1 — r) for the sum of n terms, present the proof of the sum formula, and use logarithms where the value of n must be found from a given sum.
