Resolving Forces In 2-d (Perpendicular Forces and Vectors) | Year 1 Mech | A Level Maths

Many real situations require forces to be resolved into two perpendicular directions. In this lesson you will learn how to apply Newton’s second law for motion in a straight line restricted to forces in two perpendicular directions or simple cases of forces given as 2-D vectors, write the equation of motion in i, j or column-vector form, and solve for the resulting acceleration or for unknown forces.
