Proof By Deduction | Year 1 Pure | A Level Maths
Mathematical proof is a central theme of A-level maths and proof by deduction is the most commonly used method throughout the course. In this lesson you will learn how to proceed from given assumptions through a series of logical steps to a conclusion, including standard examples such as using completion of the square to show that a quadratic expression is always positive, and proving results for arithmetic and geometric series. Strong proof skills are rewarded heavily under AO2 (Reason, interpret and communicate mathematically).
