Newton-Raphson Method | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

The Newton-Raphson method is a powerful iterative technique that converges quickly when it works. In this lesson you will learn how to use the iteration x_(n+1) = x_n — f(x_n) / f'(x_n), apply the method from a sensible starting value, and understand its working in geometrical terms so that you can describe how it can fail near points where the gradient is small.
