Locating Roots Approximately With Change of Sign Method | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths
Many equations cannot be solved analytically and numerical methods are needed instead. In this lesson you will learn how to locate roots of f(x) = 0 by considering changes of sign of f(x) on a small interval where the function is continuous, and understand how the change-of-sign method can fail when the interval is too large (giving an even number of roots) or when the function has a discontinuity rather than a root.
