Constant Acceleration in a Straight Line | Year 1 Mech | A Level Maths

The suvat equations are the workhorse of constant-acceleration problems and you must know them by heart. In this lesson you will learn how to use and derive the formulae v = u + at, s = ut + (1/2) a t^2, s = (1/2)(u + v) t and v^2 = u^2 + 2 a s for motion in a straight line, choose the right equation for the given information, and apply them to problems involving meeting, stopping and turning points.
