Area Between a Curve and the x-Axis | Year 1 Pure | A Level Maths

Calculating areas is one of the most important applications of definite integration. In this lesson you will learn how to use a definite integral to find the area bounded by a curve and the x-axis, handle situations where the curve dips below the axis, and find the area enclosed between two curves, for example the finite area bounded by y = 6x — x^2 and y = 2x. The technique extends to parametric curves later in the course.
