In this lesson you will learn how to use the laws of indices for all rational exponents, including fractional powers, negative powers and the equivalence of a^(m/n) and the n-th root of a^m. A secure grasp of these rules underpins later work on surds, exponentials, logarithms, differentiation and integration.
