Expanding Expressions of the Form (1+bx)^n | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths
The general binomial expansion extends the binomial theorem from positive integer powers to any rational n. In this lesson you will learn how to expand (1 + bx)^n for any rational n, recognise that the expansion is valid for |bx| < 1, find the first few terms in ascending powers of x, and comment on the range of validity where required. This technique is widely used for approximation.
