Implicit Differentiation | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths

Implicit differentiation handles relations such as x^2 + y^2 = 25 where y is not explicitly given as a function of x. In this lesson you will learn how to differentiate both sides of an implicit relation with respect to x, treat y as a function of x via the chain rule, and rearrange to find dy/dx. The technique is essential for finding tangents and normals to curves given implicitly.
