Chain Rule With e And ln() | Year 2 Pure | A Level Maths
Differentiating exponentials and natural logarithms is a key extension of the standard rules. In this lesson you will learn the standard derivatives of e^(kx), a^(kx) (using (d/dx) a^(kx) = k a^(kx) ln a) and ln x, and combine them with the chain rule to handle composite functions such as e^(2x + 1) or ln(3x^2 + 1). The lesson develops the skills needed for exponential modelling, integration and the product and quotient rules.
