Intro To The Correlation Coefficient (PMCC) and Linear Regression | Year 2 Stats | A Level Maths
The product moment correlation coefficient r measures how closely data points lie to a straight line. In this lesson you will learn the property that |r| <= 1 and that r = +/- 1 means all data points lie on a straight line, calculate r using a calculator (the formula is not required), and interpret a regression line including the meaning of explanatory (independent) and response (dependent) variables. The lesson also covers the dangers of extrapolation.
