Hypothesis testing for correlation tells you whether an observed correlation is statistically significant. In this lesson you will learn how to state hypotheses in terms of the population correlation coefficient rho with a null hypothesis of rho = 0, use a calculator to find the sample correlation coefficient r, and compare it with a critical value from a table or with a given p-value. The lesson interprets the conclusion in context.
