The Binomial Distribution: Calculating Binomial Probabilities | Year 1 Stats | A Level Maths

The binomial distribution models the number of successes in a fixed number of independent trials and is a workhorse of A-level statistics. In this lesson you will learn how to recognise when X ~ B(n, p) is appropriate, use the binomial formula nCr p^r (1 — p)^(n — r) to compute individual probabilities, and use a calculator to find individual or cumulative binomial probabilities. The lesson covers both standalone calculations and short interpretive comments.
