Practical Applications of Differentiation (Optimisation Problems) | Year 1 Pure | A Level Maths
Optimisation is the practical face of differentiation and a regular feature of A-level exam papers. In this lesson you will learn how to express a quantity to be maximised or minimised in terms of a single variable, find stationary points using the first derivative, and verify the nature of each point using the second derivative. Examples cover classic problems on maximising volume, minimising surface area and other applied contexts.
