Separation of variables is the standard technique for solving first-order differential equations at A-level. In this lesson you will learn how to evaluate the analytical solution of simple first-order differential equations with separable variables, including finding particular solutions where an initial condition is given, and sketch members of the family of solution curves. Separation may require factorisation involving a common factor.
