Mean and Standard Deviation of Non-Grouped Data (OCR B MEI) | Year 1 Stats | A Level Maths

OCR B (MEI) uses a slightly different convention for the standard deviation, and this lesson covers the version used in MEI A-level maths. Using the MEI convention, you will learn how to calculate the mean as x-bar = (sum of x) / n, the sum Sxx = sum of (x — x-bar)^2, and the sample standard deviation s = sqrt(Sxx / (n — 1)). You will also work with summary statistics and interpret outputs from your calculator and spreadsheets.
