Mean and Standard Deviation of Non-Grouped Data (OCR A, Edexcel and AQA) | Year 1 Stats | A Level Maths

The mean and standard deviation are the most widely used measures of location and spread, and this lesson focuses on the OCR A, Edexcel and AQA approach for ungrouped data. In this lesson you will learn how to calculate the mean using x-bar = (sum of x) / n, work with the statistic Sxx = sum of (x — x-bar)^2 = sum of x^2 — (sum of x)^2 / n, and use sigma equals sqrt(Sxx / n). The lesson covers calculations from raw data and from summary statistics.
